Services
Full-service excavation and site work from one contractor — clearing, dirt work, septic, utilities and specialized trenchless drilling, all done right the first time.
Peak Excavating is a one-stop general engineering contractor handling everything from defensible-space clearing to deep utility and trenchless work. We take on jobs of every size — from a small driveway to projects moving tens of thousands of yards — with the right equipment and certified crews on every site.
Land Clearing & Demolition
Land clearing is the process of removing vegetation, rocks and unsuitable material from a plot of land to prepare it for construction or agricultural development. It includes clearing above-ground vegetation and grubbing out soil to remove roots and rocks.
- Masticating
- Debris piling
- Pile burning
- Offsite hauling
- House pads
- Driveways
- Fence lines
- Utility routes
- Rangeland improvement
Earthwork & Grading
Earthwork is the process of excavating, moving, compacting and grading soil and/or rock to accomplish an engineering goal. Peak completes projects ranging from small extensions to tens of thousands of yards.
- House pads
- Livestock arena pads
- Access roads
- Driveways
- Terraces for slope stabilization
- Ponds & dams
Septic Systems
Septic systems are underground wastewater treatment structures that use a combination of natural and technological processes to treat wastewater. Peak constructs new systems and repairs failed ones.
- New septic & aerobic treatment systems
- Repair of failed systems
- Stone leach fields
- Bio-chamber / infiltrator style fields
- Mounded leach systems
Utility Installation
Both wet and dry utilities are placed underground for a number of great reasons: to increase public safety, improve reliability through inclement weather, and to enhance the aesthetic beauty of properties.
- Water pipelines
- Sewer laterals
- Power & telecom conduit
- Pull boxes
- Homeowner power-pole sets
Trenchless & HDD
HDD is an acronym for horizontal directional drilling, also known as directional boring. It places utilities under sensitive areas like roadways, water courses and landscaped areas using steerable drill bits and locating technology accurate to within one inch of depth and 1% accuracy for slope/pitch.
- Crossings under roadways
- Under water courses
- Beneath landscaped areas
- Minimal-disturbance utility installation
- Precise depth & pitch control
Vacuum Excavation
Vacuum excavation is the process of using high-pressure air or water to break apart soil while a high-flow vacuum pump carries the spoils away into a holding tank.
- Daylighting (potholing) existing utilities
- Flushing clogged pipelines
- Cleaning culverts & cattle guards
- Slot trenching in sensitive areas
Emergency Work
Peak Excavating is available and on call for all emergency situations, day and night, within our standard serving territory.
- Winter storm road repairs
- Culvert opening
- Downed-tree clearing
- Slope stabilization
